He has undergone his training from the UK (at various tertiary units including Neonatal Units in Birmingham, Coventry, Liverpool, Canterbury and Great Ormond street hospital) . Dr. Prathap Chandra has done research for 2 years at Birmingham Women?s Hospital looking at outcomes of various congenital malformations and the outcomes of Gastroschisis, in-utero and exchange transfusions. He has been awarded a CCT in Paediatric and Neonatal Medicine in 2010 and FRCPCH in 2014. He has worked as a Neonatal Consultant at University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire for 3 years before returning to India. He is a certified NLS instructor of resuscitation council, UK.
